Berserk also known as “Kenpū Denki Berserk” is a Japanese anime television series adapted from the manga by Kentaro Miura. Produced by Nippon Television and VAP, it aired 25 episodes from October 1997 to April 1998.

The series follows Guts, a mercenary with a haunted past. as he navigates a treacherous medieval world filled with demons, dark and forces. The show’s gripping storyline, well-developed characters and amazing soundtrack by Susumu Hirasawa have earned it a reputation as a must-watch anime classic.

Kenpu Denki Berserk Story

Mercenary warrior Guts becomes a member of Griffith’s Band of the Hawk. With Guts acting as leader, the group gains both strength and size. Griffith tells Guts about his desire to rule a kingdom and shows him his Behelit, an unexplained demonic relic. And Midland hires the Band of the Hawk, who helps in defeating the Tudor empire in the Hundred Year War. Guts becomes good friends with Casca. the unit commander of the Hawks. Guts makes the decision to depart following the group’s success in order to give up on Griffith’s dream. 

After having relations with Princess Charlotte while suffering from psychological trauma, Griffith is imprisoned and subjected to torture. Guts finds out that Casca has assumed leadership of the Hawks and that they are now outlaws. Griffith is cut and left mute after they save him from the Tower of Rebirth. Casca gives Guts instructions to look after Griffith and to seek his own goals. The God Hand selects Griffith to be their last member, and the Band of the Hawk as a whole is marked as a sacrifice. After reincarnating as Femto, Griffith abuses Casca. After escaping the eclipse and taking on the appearance of the Black Swordsman, Guts sets out to exact revenge on the God Hand and the apostles.
