Story of Casca in Berserk Anime

A young girl from a family with little wealth named Casca is sold into slavery by an aristocrat after she enlists in the Band of the Falcon. She escapes a rape attempt and meets Griffith and his mercenary group. She becomes obsessed with Griffith and feels inspired to kill the noble. Casca climbs the hired gun life ranks, promising to be Griffith’s sword and help him in realizing his goal of becoming a nobleman. The marriage of Princess Charlotte, the heir to Midland, is Griffith’s ultimate dream. Despite her early struggles with her own goals, Casca becomes a valued band member due to her charisma and commitment.

Griffith starts to focus on Casca as a result of his envy of Guts, which drives Casca to take his own life. Casca turns rude, verbally abusing Guts and criticizing his actions. There are several dead people and Griffith in jail when Guts returns to the Falcon. When Griffith rapes Casca on his way to the Godhead, it perfectly captures the essence of his evil. The graphic rape scene, which occupies many panels and features sensual close-ups and shots, feels dehumanizing and uncomfortable.

After an army of the enemy, a needless Wylad attack, and a flashback to her childhood, this is Casca’s fourth attack. Because of its visual format, manga is a depressing experience. After Griffith’s attack, the mute character Casca gets injured and becomes Guts‘ mascot as she journeys to Elfhelm to seek out a cure. A gang of men sexually abuse Casca, and Guts, overcome by his inner demons, abuses her in return. After their breakup, Guts is left to rely on a group of fighters to keep Casca safe from his dark side. It is disappointing how Casca is portrayed in the manga as a mascot because it treats her like a source of stress.

What are the abilities of Casca?

Only Griffith can match Casca’s skill as a leader and deadly fighter in the first Band of the Falcon. Her superior swordsmanship, quick reflexes, strength, and agility enable her to overcome stronger opponents. She’s mostly helpless, but in dangerous situations, she’s shown signs of her old self. Following her recovery, Casca resumes her combat training and is warmly welcomed by her fellow fighters. Because of Casca’s height, Isidro asks her to spar with him.
