The God Hand, Explained

The origins of the mysterious and evil group known as the God Hand are unknown. One of its members, Void, appeared at an important point with otherworldly beings, as observed by a lone man wearing the powerful Berserker Armor. The remaining four entities’ origins are still a mystery, but Void continued in his life.  Gathering followers and potential God Hand members over the years as well as engaging in combat with the Skull Knight.

The God Hand members were once human, but they experienced a transformation when they used a red behelit during one of the rare solar eclipses that happen once every 216 years. Offering their loved ones and sending their souls into the abyss, where a new demonic form is forged, is a great sacrifice that goes along with this transformation. Since then, the God Hand has shaped human history, directed events, attracted new followers, and maintained complete control over apostles.

In Berserk Griffith joined them and in a terrifying exchange, transformed into Femto. Also sacrificing the entire Band of the Hawk in order to achieve his rebirth.

How Powerful is The God Hand?

In the Berserk series, The God Hand is one of the most dangerous demons, possessing unmatched control over all apostles and showing powers that surpass the limits of reality. Each member has special abilities to change reality. For example, Void and Femto can manipulate space, Slan and Conrad can manipulate physical objects, and Ubik can manipulate the metaphysical realm. They have extraordinary foresight because they understand causality, but they are not immortal or able to predict every possible outcome.

These powerful entities, originating from the depths of the collective negativity of humanity, exist anywhere there is a significant concentration of negative human thought. They have unrivaled power inside the divine zone of the Astral World, but when they choose to take on simplest forms outside of it, their influence may seem to be diminished.
